Worship
Our worship services are traditional, yet relaxed. As you come into the sanctuary on Sunday morning you will be warmly greeted and invited to sit wherever you choose. During this time the gathered people will visit with one another, or if you so choose, you are invited to sit quietly and pray or meditate.
You are invited to come as you are. Dress up or as informal as you like. Most of our regular attendees dress somewhere in between.
We welcome the presence of small children and babies during worship. We have activity bags located under a table behind the front pews and you are free to take one for your child/children. If you feel the need, our nursery and upstairs “cry room” are open every Sunday.
We also have hearing assisted devices as well as chair lifts to assist you if you need them.
Holy Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is celebrated the first Sunday of each month, as well as other special times throughout the year. Here at Sycamore United Church of Christ we celebrate “open table” which means that if you belong to another church, another denomination or none, even if you have never been to church before and show up to ours on Communion Sunday, you are welcome to share in Christ’s meal with us.
